Garbage + The Pearl Harts

De alternatieve rockband Garbage bracht vorig jaar ter ere van hun twintigjarig bestaan het gelijknamige debuutalbum opnieuw en kondigde onlangs een nieuw album aan. Shirley Manson (zang), Steve Marker (gitaar, keyboards), Duke Erikson (gitaar, keyboards) en Butch Vig (drums, loops) brengen op 10 juni hun zesde studioalbum 'Strange Little Birds' uit. De Schots/Amerikaanse band scoorde midden jaren ’90 wereldhits met ‘Only Happy When It Rains’ en ‘Stupid Girl’ en schreef in 1999 de titelsong voor de James Bond film The World Is Not Enough. De band won diverse MTV Awards, kreeg Grammy Award nominaties en heeft wereldwijd meer dan 12 miljoen albums verkocht.

Butch Vig is er op dokters advies niet bij
Spijtig nieuws uit het Garbage-kamp. Drummer Butch Vig mag als gevolg van een bijholteontsteking niet vliegen van de dokter. Hij mist daardoor de Europese shows van Garbage. Zijn vervanger is Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey), die al eerder heeft ingevallen bij de band. We wensen Butch een goed herstel!

Het officiële bericht van Garbage:
"Due to acute sinusitis and doctor’s orders to not fly for a few weeks, Garbage’s Butch Vig regretfully will not be on the first leg of Garbage’s upcoming tour from May 24th-June 18th. Under doctor’s orders Vig will rest up and intends on returning to the group when they tour the United States this summer. "I'm super bummed I'm going to miss the first leg of the tour. I want to thank all our fans in advance for understanding. I can't wait to reconnect with you later this year." Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey) who has worked with Garbage in the past will be sitting in for Butch."
