On Tuesday, 18 November 2025, the third edition of Freedom Through Healing will take place.
This year’s theme is The Power Within – an invitation to look inward, to find strength, and to face yourself with courage and compassion.

The evening will be both a benefit concert and a community gathering, offering a space where music, dialogue, and healing practices meet. The event is designed to foster open conversations around different aspects of mental health and healing. A live Q&A panel with experts will guide the discussion, moderated by Safiya Juliana. Artist Afia Anim will be part of the conversation, joined by four additional experts whose names will be announced soon.

Following the panel, Afia Anim will celebrate the release of her EP. Afia, a Ghanaian singer-songwriter raised in the Netherlands, weaves together Afrobeats, R&B, and (Neo-)Soul, creating music rooted in empowerment, healing, and transformation. Her performance will be complemented by invited international artists, who will each share their own work as well as join together in a collective performance. Alongside this, a curated multi-sensory experience will further enrich the evening, making it both deeply moving and celebratory.

To nourish the body alongside the mind and spirit, vegan food will be provided by Yemaya, offering delicious and soulful dishes for all guests.

All proceeds from Freedom Through Healing will go towards the establishment of a therapy access fund and the creation of a wellness space in Ghana, dedicated to collective healing and care.

The event is open to everyone, though we hold in mind that the curation of the night is centered on offering BIPOC communities a space to rest, reflect, and heal.

DIP (Tuesdays/Thursdays In Paradiso)

DIP (Tuesdays/Thursdays In Paradiso) is a free space in Paradiso where creatives have the opportunity - with support by Paradiso's expertise - to try out new ideas and experiment. A place where organizations, collectives, artists, performers, makers, free birds and inventors can grow their talent and put their own spin on Paradiso's Tuesday evening or Thursday night.

On Tuesday evenings, the Upstairs Room transforms into a brewing ground for innovative, cultural and social programs. Think sharp conversations, unexpected performances and multidisciplinary concepts.

On Thursday nights, the Basement opens its doors to Amsterdam's nightlife: an underground place where new club concepts emerge, and experimental sounds can be heard into the wee hours of the morning.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
