Fischer-Z is zo’n band die elke keer als je ze bijna vergeten bent, weer verrassend uit de hoek komt met nieuw materiaal. In 1979, twee jaar na oprichting, kwam een van de grootste cultalbums in de new wave-muziek ‘World Salad’ uit, waarvan single ‘Remember Russia’ meteen door John Peel grijsgedraaid werd. In 1981 - en dit jaar dus precies 40 jaar geleden - volgde 'Red Skies Over Paradise' met fan-favorieten als 'Marliese', 'Berlin' en 'Cruise Missiles'. Op zaterdag 9 april 2022 keert Fischer-Z terug naar Paradiso met een speciale '40th Anniversary of Red Skies Over Paradise' show, waarin onder andere deze nummers, maar ook een aantal hits van hun andere albums aan bod komen.

Red Skies Over Paradiso: a very special one off event

The story of 1978-2022 told via the political songs of Fischer-Z (Celebrating ‘Red Skies Over Paradise’) coinciding with the launch of the new Fischer-Z Club. Fischer-Z focused. No gimmicks. It’s about reducing to the essence of Fischer-Z then amplifying it. 28 songs including most of the iconic Fischer-Z classics. This concert is more than music and it requires the participation of the audience who we are asking to dress for their favourite song. The whole event is being filmed, so come and be part of it. A percentage of profits will be given to the International Red Cross funds who are trying to support civilians suffering from war in Eastern Europe. The audience will also be encouraged to donate directly to the same organisations at the show.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
