Due to the ongoing uncertainty, Fink has unfortunately canceled his entire European tour. This also means that the two planned concerts in Paradiso on 2 and 3 April 2022 will be cancelled. Ticket buyers will receive an email with more information.

A personal message from Fink:

Dear friends - we have made the difficult decision to cancel our European tour in the spring of next year, 2022. This is a very hard message for us to write, and believe us when we say it’s a conclusion we have not come to lightly. Far from it: the three of us were incredibly excited about getting out there again and playing for you all. But after much deliberation we’ve realised that there’s no way of us effectively and safely undertaking such a big tour, to so many countries, while this pandemic rages on. We’re so sorry to everyone who has supported us and bought tickets; we sincerely hope we can one day make it up to you. Thanks also to our team who’ve already worked hard to try and make these shows happen. We’re going to use the time to try and make some new music, and we’ll be back as soon as we can. Engelsman Fink (1972) begon zijn carrière als dj in de underground dancewereld van Bristol en Londen. Hij leerde zichzelf produceren en songschrijven en bracht in 1997 zijn elektronische debuutalbum ‘Fink Funk’ uit via het gerenommeerde dancelabel Ninja Tune Records, opgevolgd door het eveneens elektronische album ‘Fresh Produce’ in 2000. En alhoewel hij succesvol was in de dancewereld, ging Fink door een artistieke midlifecrisis in de jaren ’00: hij voelde zich niet langer thuis in de Londense clubscene en was op zoek naar meer diepgang. Na diverse schrijfsessies als producer – hij werkte o.a. met Amy Winehouse – wist hij het zeker: hij ging een akoestisch album maken. Zo ontstond in 2006 langspeler ‘Biscuits For Breakfast’, waarop hij genres als indie, folk en pop verkende, maar hij vooral ver weg bleef van zijn eerder zo geliefde elektronische muziek. Zijn grote doorbraak volgde in 2011 met het album ‘Perfect Darkness’, waarmee hij een grote internationale fanbase verwierf en onder andere geboekt werd op festivals als Lowlands. Op dit moment woont Fink in Berlijn, werkt hij als docent op een Conservatorium en kijkt hij terug op een kleurrijke carrière van bijna 30 jaar. Dit doet hij in 2021 met de release van zijn nieuwe album ‘IIUII’, wat staat voor “it isn’t until it is” en een boek wat hij schreef, vol muziek en herinneringen. Op 2 en 3 april 2022 geeft hij in het kader van zijn wereldwijde “it isn’t until it is”-tournee twee concerten in Paradiso.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
