Our continent is teetering. Borders are fading, old allies have turned their backs on Europe, and democracy is under pressure. But in the dark, we search for the light.

On May 9th, Paradiso opens her doors for EuropaNacht: a clubnight at the nexus of culture, ideas and music. We dance, think, and challenge. Since those who dance, fight. Those who speak, change. Celebrate EuropaNacht with De Kiesmannen and a new generation of artists, activists, journalists, writers and thinkers - in all halls of Paradiso. For as we now stand on shaky grounds, it is time to get engaged.

Main Hall

After midnight, the Main Hall becomes the theater of a clubnight. Over the last years, Lucky Done Gone has built an international audience for his sound. Now he is back in Paradiso with a DJ-set on the nexus of House, Trance and 90’s Techno.

Sandrien has been in the scene for over twenty years and is a fixture in clubs like Berghain and De School. Her sets are rhythmic and layered, effortlessly moving between house, techno and acid. During EuropaNacht she will play b2b with Lucky Done Gone, who in recent years has made his mark both at home and abroad. Now he returns to Paradiso with a set at the nexus of house, trance and 90s techno.

Doudou MD mostly plays vinyl, with influences from the 1990s. With a strong focus on rhythm and percussion, her sets are physical and direct, designed to truly connect with her audience.

OG Karin blends different genres and finds the overlap in rhythmic, percussive and raw tracks, with a touch of groove and sensuality. Her sets balance intensity and calm, with unexpected twists that guarantee movement on the dance floor.

Jayo Tony is a pioneer from the first wave of Dutch VJs. With explosive visuals and a bold sense of color, she elevates every live show she touches. Her work has accompanied artists and events such as Fatima Yamaha, PRIDE, and The Flexican.

Upstairs Hall

Need a break from dancing? Step into a world of inspiring talks, discussions and workshops in the Upstairs Hall. Here, the Amsterdam Museum presents Women of Mokum on European Ground: celebrating Amsterdam women who have left a lasting impact on Europe. Host Cathelijne Blok has a conversation with Frida Boeke, David Breebaart and Devika Partiman about their odes to women of Amsterdam. After this, you can create an ode yourself, which will end up in the collection of the Amsterdam Museum.

Explore the shaky grounds of Europe and the world with De Kiesmannen, Pjotr Sauer and Gatool Katawazi as they discuss the geopolitical landscape and uncertainties shaping our continent. The Marker journalists Chaira Koops and Gijs Sanders, together with writers Daaf Borren and Nadia Nsayi, explore contemporary European influence in the DRC. The audience is invited to think and act critically during "Neocolonialism: Europe's Role Beyond the Continent."

In the basement, the sounds of the Caribbean and African diaspora are represented by Kurashi Soundsystem. Here, the collective curates an evening which defies genres. They build a party like no one else; from amapiano to dancehall, reggaeton to breaks - it’s happening.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
