Echo & The Bunnymen maakt donkere, melodische postpunk en new wave en wordt gezien als één van de meest invloedrijke bands uit de Engelse muziekgeschiedenis. De band werd in 1978 opgericht en wordt anno nu nog steeds aangevoerd door twee van de in totaal drie oprichters: frontman Ian McCulloch en gitarist Will Sergeant. Hun toonaangevende albums 'Crocodiles', 'Heaven Up Here', 'Porcupine' en 'Ocean Rain' uit respectievelijk 1980, 1981, 1982 en 1983 vormden de blauwdruk voor de muziek van bands als Coldplay, The Killers, The Flaming Lips en Hole, en vormden hiermee deels het pop-, indie- en rockgeluid wat we tegenwoordig kennen. Op vrijdag 5 april 2024 komt de band terug naar Paradiso voor een concert in de Grote Zaal.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
