De Dijk is uitgegroeid tot een band die waarschijnlijk iedere Nederlander kent: Huub van der Lubbe en de band zitten in het collectieve geheugen van haast drie generaties muziekliefhebbers. Meer dan 40 jaar na oprichting staat de band nog steeds met plezier en enthousiasme op de planken. De Dijk heeft overal ter wereld gestaan. In kroegen en in stadions. Aan de waterkant en op het Rode Plein. Ze maakten een plaat met de legendarische Solomon Burke, ontvingen vele gouden en platina albums en wonnen alle prijzen die er zijn. De roots van hun muziek liggen in the Deep South: New Orleans, Muscle Shoals en Memphis, Tennessee.

Het nieuwste album 'Nu Of Nou' verscheen eind 2019. Exact veertig jaar geleden, op 1 oktober 1981 stond De Dijk voor het eerst in Paradiso, als voorprogramma van Raymond van het Groenewoud. De decennia die volgde stond de band er bijna elk jaar opnieuw wat het totaal op ruim tachtig eigen optredens brengt. Maar dat de sleur er zeker nog niet inzit komt de band ook dit jaar weer met hun traditionele eindejaarsconcerten aantonen.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
