De Australische bluesman C.W. Stoneking is geboren in 1974, maar zijn muziek neemt je mee terug naar de jaren twintig, dertig en veertig, de tijd van de calypso- en ragtimeblues. Stoneking mixt daarbij hillbilly, gospel, en country met zijn kenmerkende stem die wat betreft frasering doet denken aan Louis ‘Satchmo’ Armstrong. Op zijn eerste albums King Hokum (2005) en Jungle Blues (2008) was zijn sound nog akoestisch, maar op zijn laatste plaat Gon Boogaloo (2014) waagde hij zich aan de elektrische gitaar. Het resultaat: twaalf rock-n-gospel-dancehall-blueskrakers. Voor liefhebbers van o.a. Pokey LaFarge is C.W. Stoneking weer terug en is hij te zien in het Zonnehuis.

How to get to Zonnehuis

Zonnehuis is on Zonneplein 30a in Amsterdam North. Parking is free on Sunday and on other days after 7pm. The closest ferry to Zonnehuis is the NDSM-werf ferry. From there you can take a cab or bicycle, both getting you to the venue in about 10 minutes.
