City and Colour + Lucy Rose

De Canadese singer-songwriter Dallas Green (ook bekend als gitarist/zanger van Alexisonfire) brengt op 9 oktober zijn nieuwe album “If I Should Go Before You” uit. Het eerste, meeslepende voorproefje 'Woman' is al te beluisteren.

In 2004 richtte Dallas Green zijn solo-project City and Colour op, refererend naar zijn voornaam (Dallas) en achternaam (Green) en dat blijkt een schot in de roos te zijn. Hij speelt wereldwijd in uitverkochte zalen en zijn albums krijgen de status platina en goud. Met "If I Should Go Before You" is City and Colour alweer toe aan zijn vijfde album. Anders dan voorheen, heeft Dallas Green nu gekozen voor het opnemen van nieuw materiaal met zijn vaste live band, die bestaat uit Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, Dead Weather) op bas, Dante Schwebel (Spanish Gold, Dan Auerbach) op gitaar, Doug MacGregor (Constantines) op drums en Matt Kelly op pedalsteelgitaar en toetsen.

Dallas Green zegt er het volgende over: “They inspired me to want to create new music, just to create it with them—I don’t think I wrote these songs for the band, per se, but I certainly wrote them because of the band. Anybody who has seen us play will understand that this is the best representation of what we do live that we have ever recorded. I was so excited about being able to make and record an album with these guys that it just flowed. I felt so confident about their abilities to make all of my ideas come true.”
