In de muziekcarrière van singer-songwriter Chris Staples, dat zich uitstrekt van Florida tot Washington en waarin hij zeven studioalbums uitbracht, nam de Amerikaan niet de tijd om stil te staan. Pas toen hij zich in 2023 vestigde in Richmond, Virginia, kreeg hij de tijd om zich aan te passen aan een rustiger ritme en dieper en langer achterom te kijken. Het was in deze rustige momenten dat zijn nieuwe album 'Don't Worry' vorm begon te krijgen: ongehaaste arrangementen, met ruimte voor vingervlugge gitaarlijnen, verstilde harmonieën, ingetogen pianomelodieën en texturen van een pedal steel-gitaar of warme synthesizer. Het album verschijnt op 5 augustus 2025 op Hot Tub Recordings.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
