De jonge Noors-Braziliaanse zangeres en componist Charlotte Dos Santos maakt een kleurrijke en originele mix van neo-soul, jazz en Zuid-Amerikaanse muziek. Ze studeerde aan het precieuze Berklee College of Music in Boston en bracht in 2017 haar goed ontvangen debuut solo EP ‘Cleo’ uit via het Fresh Selects label. Op het album snijdt de zangeres onderwerpen als feminisme, onafhankelijkheid en loyaliteit aan. Het album maakte veel los bij smaakmakers als Pitchfork, The Cut en NyMag en inmiddels mag Dos Santos zelfs grootheden als Gilles Peterson en Outkast’s Big Boi tot haar fans rekenen. In 2020 staat haar debuutalbum op de planning, maar nog voor het zo ver is zie je haar voor het eerst op Nederlandse bodem op Super-Sonic Jazz Festival 2019.

The young Norwegian-Brazilian singer and composer Charlotte Dos Santos makes a colorful and original mix of neo-soul, jazz and South American music. She studied at Boston’s Berklee College of Music released her well-received debut solo EP "Cleo" in 2017 via the Fresh Selects label. On the album, the singer addresses topics such as feminism, independence and loyalty. The album caused a great deal of interest among tastemakers such as Pitchfork, The Cut and NyMag. She also received recognition from Gilles Peterson and Outkast’s Big Boi. Dos Santos is releasing her debut album in 2020, but before that she will play on Dutch soil for the very first time during Super-Sonic Jazz Festival 2019.
