Almost nothing beats a drink and live music. During Café Paradiso we will transform the Great Hall into a live music cafe with performances by bands and solo artists. This evening is even more special, because Café Paradiso collaborates with the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music. Come along and enjoy a drink and be surprised by the music of young talent.
DJ beachtenis geluidssysteem will provide the music this evening in between acts.
Tickets are €5 or free if you own a Stadspas, a Paradiso membership or Vriendenkaart.

Yan Lâle
Amsterdam based Yan Lâle originated as a school project in the first year of the conservatory of amsterdam, where the paths of tugce kartal (vocals), Marc Sarria (keys), Midas Bremer (guitar), Floris Kaagman (bass) and Tom van Giessen (drums) crossed for the first time.
The five-member group has now grown into much more than that. having released their first single “Lonely Land” in october 2023, and their second single “A Touch of Darkness” in december 2023, Yan Lâle has already shown how versatile their repertoire can be. after being in the finals of the Amsterdamse popprijs, Yan Lâle is performing at even more music venues with their compelling performances. because with songwriting that can be described as limitless, unfathomable, dark and idiosyncratic, combined with the mysterious lyrics and melodies of singer tugce kartal, the band has already left its mark on the Amsterdam music scene.

LifeLoan
LifeLoan represents the feeling that all personal experiences in life are temporary: one can only borrow them for a while and save the memory in something that matters. After moving away from her home country at the age of 12, Tatiana, despite being an outsider to the new communities she entered, always felt like she could be understood through music. From all these experiences LifeLoan came to exist - an attempt to give voice to all that’s been lost in translation. Full of contrasts, LifeLoan’s music finds itself on edge between lyrical singer-songwriter piano ballads and intricately produced dark electro pop numbers inspired by artists like James Blake and Imogen Heap.

Sarah Holwerda
Sarah establishes a warm vulnerable sound with her dynamic alternative folk. Her melodic songs seemingly casually build up to a layered intensity in a new sound inspired by artists like Patrick Watson, Joni Mitchell & Radiohead. In November 2023, her debut EP ‘Overkill’ was released
‘Her debut EP brings together different styles that she herself has been inspired by. It starts with the opening track Dunes alone. ‘The songs refer to the time in between two phases. The friction between an old and new reality, and the people you meet and let go of along the way,’ Sarah says of the EP Overkill.

Send Me Flowers
Contemporary romantic Iris van Dijk has a hard time talking about emotions so she sings about them. And hot damn does she have a lot of emotions; big, theatrical, folky emotions. Accompanied by her talented band she is able to get out of her head and step into the real world. This little introvert has the power to grab your attention. She will, in the most gentle way, cut right through your heart with her honest voice and striking lyrics. For all chronically depressed youngsters out there; remember this name.

xCelia
Flemish artist xCelia creates electropop with an edge. Silky vocals paired with energetic, electronic beats. Booming bass synths with sincere lyrics. xCelia is in alignment with her inner Britney-chakra, showing her most daring and adventurous side in her music. She stands for female empowerment and boundless self-expression, which she also encourages in her listeners. Her world is full of energy, femininity, and passion. Through dance, fashion, and music, xCelia embodies Pop with a capital 'P'. Big inspirations are artists like Halsey, Grimes, and Ellie Goulding.

How to get to Paradiso
Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
