Benjamin Ankomah, beter bekend als Bnnyhunna, is een Ghanese artiest uit Amsterdam Zuidoost. Muziek werd zijn uitlaatklep tijdens een uitdagende jeugd, waarbij hij piano, drums en gitaar leerde spelen in de kerk. Zijn unieke geluid is beïnvloed door legendes als Fela Kuti en Kendrick Lamar. Na de middelbare school begon hij zijn muziekcarrière en werkte samen met artiesten als Rimon, Jose James, Arp Frique en Akwasi.

Bnnyhunna maakt een mix van jazz, hiphop, r&b en afro en weerspiegelt zijn West-Afrikaanse achtergrond. Zijn debuut EP 'SINTHA' (2021) zorgde voor uitverkochte shows en optredens op grote festivals zoals North Sea Jazz en Down The Rabbit Hole. Hij is al jaren een graag geziene gast bij Super-Sonic Jazz en regelmatig te vinden op het festival en de jams.

2024 wordt Bnnyhunna's grootste jaar tot nu toe met de release van zijn debuutalbum, een headlinetour, festivaloptredens en composities voor de Nederlandse Nationale Opera. Tijdens zijn shows streeft hij ernaar alle zintuigen van zijn publiek te stimuleren en experimenteert hij met verschillende kunstvormen zoals fotografie, videografie en poëzie.

Super-Sonic Jazz

Super-Sonic Jazz is an Amsterdam-based non-profit platform for exciting artists who move within the universe of jazz. We release music on our independent record label, and in collaboration with Paradiso, we organize concerts, jams, and the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival. This year Super-Sonic Jazz Festival 2024 will take place from Wednesday, November 13th to Sunday, November 17th, 2024, at Paradiso, de Duif , and the Vondelkerk in Amsterdam.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
