Blondshell weet zich te onderscheiden met haar confessionele teksten, rauwe gitaren, pakkende hooks en broeierige melodieën. Op haar tweede album, 'If You Asked For A Picture', verkent Teitelbaum het thema van zelfexpressie. Hoeveel deel je van je eigen verhaal, en wat houd je voor jezelf? Deze vragen lopen als een rode draad door de nummers.

Waar haar debuutalbum nog scherp en zwart-wit aanvoelde, biedt deze opvolger juist ruimte voor nuance en reflectie. De heldere nummers graven diep in familierelaties, zoals in '23's A Baby,' dat gaat over ouders die hun trauma’s doorgeven, en andere nummers die de complexe dynamiek tussen moeders en dochters blootleggen, inclusief de eindeloze wederzijdse kritiek.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
