Blackbird is het alter ego van Merel Koman. De Nederlandse zangeres, muzikant en songschrijver is al haar hele leven bezig met muziek. Ze studeerde jazz en pop in Utrecht en reisde daarna door naar Amsterdam om zich daar onder te dompelen in de muziekscene. Blackbird, te herkennen aan haar krachtige, zuivere stemgeluid, wordt geïnspireerd door allerlei genres en stijlen, van legendes als Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette en Joni Mitchell tot de soundtrack van diverse Quentin Tarantino films. Inmiddels heeft Blackbird al drie NPO Radio 2 Top Songs op zak en bracht ze haar goed ontvangen EP ‘One Of The Wild Ones’ uit in 2018. Hoog tijd dus voor een eigen langspeler, die in maart 2020 het levenslicht zal zien. De eerste single van haar nieuwe plaat genaamd 'Tell Your Mama’ is inmiddels al te beluisteren.

How to get to Tolhuistuin
Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein. Restaurant THT serves an extensive menu for any music lover – making a reservation is recommended.
