Big Joanie is een DIY-band uit Londen en maakt naar eigen zeggen black feminist sistah punk. “We’re like The Ronettes filtered through 80s DIY and riot grrrl with a sprinkling of dashikis”, aldus het powertrio. In 2018 kwam het goed ontvangen debuutalbum ‘Sistahs’ uit, met single ‘Fall Asleep’ als uitblinker van de plaat. Dit leverde hen tours met o.a. Parquet Courts en Downtown Boys op. Momenteel wordt de laatste hand gelegd aan een nieuw album.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
