Beatenberg is een Zuid-Afrikaanse popband, opgericht in 2008 door Matthew Field (zang en gitaar), Robin Brink (drums) en Ross Dorkin (bas). Hun kleurrijke geluid combineert afropop met indie en folk. De bandnaam is geïnspireerd door een schets van het Zwitserse dorp Beatenberg in een boek van Paul Klee, een expressionistische kunstenaar. Met hun debuutalbum 'The Hanging Gardens of Beatenberg' uit 2014 veroverden ze de hitlijsten en wonnen ze zeven South African Music Awards. Beatenberg brak ook internationaal door, met optredens met Mumford & Sons en shows bij Jools Holland en Jimmy Fallon. Na een aantal jaar waarin de focus lag op de soloprojecten van de bandleden, keerde Beatenberg in 2024 terug met het album 'The Great Fire of Beatenberg'. In 2025 wordt het jubileum van debuutalbum gevierd met een concert in Tolhuistuin.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
