Babs

Babs is a versatile, colourful artist and producer from Leiden, who combines socially relevant rap lyrics with catchy, self-produced pop beats. Her music is full of sharp observations, personal stories and social themes, which she raps about with a healthy dose of humour and self-deprecation. Her debut EP ‘Ruimtevrees’ was released during the pandemic in 2021. Things took off quickly after that: she performed at festivals such as Noorderslag, Paaspop, Dauwpop and Zwarte Cross, and her track ‘Bennie Boos’ was nominated for Song of the Year. She also took part in the popular TV programme Wie is de Mol? in 2024.

With her energetic live show, Babs has performed on countless stages and completed two sold-out club tours across the Netherlands. Accompanied by a tight live band, which includes her twin brother on keys and as MC, she effortlessly gets a crowd dancing, without losing the depth of her lyrics. This autumn, she’s releasing her second album ‘De Club Is Stuk’, which she’ll be celebrating with a festive release show at Bitterzoet.
