ASSEMBLE: By BPOC nerds, for everyone!

ASSEMBLE is a live event series specifically centering BPOC (Black and People of Color) nerds and geeks, creating spaces where fandom meets community. We're more than just another pop culture event - we're a movement that focuses on BPOC voices in geek culture through accessible conversations, hip-hop performances, and interactive workshops & experiences. We're doing this together with creators, fans, and anyone interested in joining. Each ASSEMBLE gathering blends the best of the culture: from anime and gaming to comics and cosplay, paired with hip-hop and dancing!

This edition, join us for a great night of nerd and geek culture. You can expect the greatest Marvel quiz ever, a performance by Amsterdam-based hip-hop group SoulTrash, a cosplay showcase, and creative & interactive workshops.

Hosted by LASHAAAWN (they/them/she/her), also known as Amsterdam's sweetheart, is an interdisciplinary performer and fantasy world builder whose work critically reflects on themes such as queerphobia, colonialism, and the Real Housewives of Potomac™.
SoulTrash is an award-winning hip-hop collective (by BLOK, ALL1NE, CRZE, T.Milan, en MC Lost) from Amsterdam Southeast, bringing the sound of the Bijlmer to the stage with high energy.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
