De Grammy-genomineerde soulzangeres Angie Stone keert dit jaar weer terug naar Amsterdam. De zangeres, songwriter, actrice en diva van de neo-soul brak in 1999 door met het album ‘Black Diamond’. Ze werkte daarna samen met Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Mary J. Blige, Mantronix en D’Angelo. Voor deze laatste artiest heeft ze ook een aantal nummers geschreven. Stone zong al vanaf zeer jonge leeftijd in een gospelkoor, maar haar internationale doorbraak kwam in 1999 met haar debuutalbum 'Black Diamond'. Het album bracht de hitsingles 'No More Rain (In This Cloud)' en 'Wish I Didn't Miss You' voort. De Amerikaanse gaat met haar laatste album ‘Covered in Soul’ weer terug naar haar soul roots. De liedjes zijn rauw, eerlijk en altijd oprecht. Zelf zegt Angie Stone over haar muziek: ''I don't go for the trendy commercial approach. What I do is basic soul music, no frills added''.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
