Als je de hippie-outfit met nerd-uitstraling van Allen Stone ziet, vermoed je niet dat je naar de "new voice of soul" kijkt. Als je zijn diepe, soulvolle stem hoort, dan zou je nooit denken dat hij pas 24 jaar jong is. En toch is het zo. De uit de Verenigde Staten afkomstige domineeszoon doet vriend en vijand versteld staan met zijn hoorbare liefde voor de grootheden van de soul en zijn talent voor het combineren van pop, r&b, folk en vintage gospel.
