Alewya

Alewya is an Ethiopian-Egyptian artist, singer and producer, born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Shepherd’s Bush, West London. Her music is a blend of everything she picked up along the way: her father’s devotional Qur’an recitations, the Ethiopian sounds of Teddy Afro and Mulatu Astatke that her mother used to play, her older brother’s alternative rock records, and her own fascination with garage, grime, R&B and hip-hop.

Following her debut album ‘Panther in Mode’ (2021), appearances at COLORS, Boiler Room Berlin and Glastonbury, and a tour with Little Simz, Alewya has new music to share. On ‘ZERO’ (2026), which she largely produced herself, she explores what it means to be human, with all the contradictions, adventures and encounters between worlds that come with it.
