100 gecs is een experimenteel elektronisch producersduo wat bestaat uit Dylan Brady en Laura Les uit Los Angeles, Californië. Het tweetal wordt gezien als een van de belangrijkste aanjagers van het in het afgelopen decennium op internet geboren nieuwe muziekgenre hyperpop; een overdreven en avantgardistische mix van pop, elektronische muziek, rock en hiphop.

100 gecs is opgericht in 2015 maar beleefde hun internationale doorbraak in 2019 met debuutalbum '1000 gecs'; de plaat werd door Pitchfork geroemd als een van de belangrijkste releases van dat jaar. Een jaar later volgde '1000 Gecs and the Tree of Clues', hun tweede album waarop enkel remixes en bewerkte versies van het debuut te vinden zijn. De tweede plaat put inspiratie uit een enorme variatie aan genres als emo, poppunk, nu metal, country en screamo in is gemaakt in samenwerking met grote namen als Charli XCX, Fall Out Boy, Rico Nasty en Kero Kero Bonito. Volgens NME is de langspeler 'an exhilarating snapshot of pop's alternative future'.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
