The scheduled support act for Gogol Bordello’s concert on 12 September at Paradiso has changed. Due to logistical complications, the British group Bob Vylan will no longer be part of Gogol Bordello’s European tour. This means they will not be performing as the support act at Paradiso that evening. The Gogol Bordello concert itself will go ahead as planned. As soon as a new support act is confirmed, we will announce it through our channels. The cancellation of Bob Vylan as the support act was not a decision made by Paradiso. In consultation with the band, Paradiso has now scheduled Bob Vylan for a standalone headline show in the Main Hall on Saturday, 13 September 2025. Additional dates at 013 and Doornroosje have also been announced. Tickets are available via our website.
Statements
Bob Vylan:
“Due to logistical complications, we have decided not to join our friends Gogol Bordello on their upcoming European tour. However, we will be heading to Europe in the coming months for both festivals and headline shows.”
Gogol Bordello:
“Following Bob Vylan’s controversial Glastonbury performance, their shows with Gogol Bordello were cancelled by the promoter and venues in Germany. The decision to remove them from the bill was not our decision and beyond our control. In the aftermath, we needed to evaluate the situation, and we decided to remove Bob Vylan from the tour until we could fully comprehend the situation. After Bob Vylan posted a more in-depth explanation, a conversation was re-opened to explore their ability to be on other tour dates. Unfortunately, it is logistically impossible for Bob Vylan to participate on the tour given the circumstances. We worked diligently together with our friends Bob Vylan to find a solution but in the end it didn’t work out. Gogol Bordello is comprised of members from various nationalities and celebrates international understanding consequentially, we value freedom of speech from all perspectives.”
Bob Vylan concert at Paradiso
The British band Bob Vylan will play a headline show at Paradiso’s Main Hall in Amsterdam on Saturday, 13 September 2025. The group was originally scheduled to support Gogol Bordello on Friday, 12 September, but due to logistical complications, they are no longer part of that European tour. In consultation with the band, Paradiso has now been able to schedule the concert as a standalone show. Additional dates at 013 and Doornroosje have also been announced. Tickets are available via the Paradiso website.
Statement Paradiso
Since its founding, Paradiso has provided a stage for socially engaged artists who use their music to reflect on the world around them, thereby contributing meaningfully to public discourse. One such artist is Bob Vylan, who speaks out against injustice and draws from personal experience to critique systems of oppression.
We are aware of the discussion that has arisen following their performance at Glastonbury, during which they expressed strong views on the actions of the Israeli military in Gaza. Those words are not ours, but we recognise the right to express outrage about war and large-scale human suffering. In our view, such themes also belong in public debate and on stage.
We therefore consciously choose to programme this band. Not to provoke, but out of the belief that a free pop culture must make space for sharp voices. Paradiso is not a place where criticism is silenced, but where dialogue remains possible. We fully support the statement by our industry association VNPF, which asserts that free artistic expression deserves protection, especially when it causes friction.
