Paradiso partners with TicketSwap to keep ticket prices affordable in resale

Today, we announce a new partnership with TicketSwap. With rising costs for artists to tour and ongoing high inflation, ticket prices are under pressure. Paradiso strives to keep cultural programming accessible and affordable, which this partnership contributes to. From now on, sellers on TicketSwap are held to a price cap of 100% of the original purchase price for programmes organised by Paradiso. Until now, TicketSwap had a price cap of 120% in the Netherlands.

Thanks to the collaboration, it will be safer to buy tickets on the most famous resale platform in the Netherlands. From now on, new barcodes will be created for all sold tickets via the seamless integration of TicketSwap with Paradiso's primary ticket partner See Tickets. This guarantees that the ticket is valid for admission.

Tens of thousands of tickets for Paradiso programs are traded on the Dutch resale platform every year.

Waiting lists

For popular programmes we open a waiting list. This is the only official resale option besides TicketSwap. Fans with a ticket can offer their ticket to the first person on the waiting list and will receive the purchase price back when it is sold. People who missed out have a fair 'first come, first served' chance to still be able to attend the event. Waiting lists close three days prior to the event. From then on, selling and purchasing tickets via TicketSwap is activated.

Tackling scalping

There is currently no legislation that prohibits the resale of tickets for profit in the Netherlands, but the commercial resale of tickets has been prohibited for years based on the general terms and conditions of pop venues and festivals throughout the country. Paradiso already cancelled over 3400 tickets on this basis in 2024 that were offered on platforms such as TopTicketShop, Viagogo, StubHub, Marktplaats, Facebook and Instagram and were sold there, unlike TicketSwap, for exorbitant amounts.

The platform Weet Waar Je Koopt (Know Where To Buy) is active with tips for safely buying tickets and information about filing a report if you've been scammed. Paradiso advises against responding to unreliable advertisements on the aforementioned platforms or paying more than the regular ticket price. In this way, visitors contribute to discouraging the buying up of tickets by profiteering traders.
