INDIESLEAZE LIVE x Indiestad is a new festival at Paradiso, born from the club night INDIESLEAZE, which has been held in Amsterdam since 2023. Acts like The Dare and LYNKS made their debut in the Netherlands here.
INDIESLEAZE taps into the 'indie sleaze' revival: the resurgence of electroclash, indie, and bloghouse from the early 2000s, which, thanks to TikTok and Charli XCX’s album Brat, has gained new attention from a younger generation.
In the Netherlands, artists like Baby Berserk, Housepainters, and Lena Hessels are taking this rebellious music style into the future. They are giving it a fresh twist by blending their DIY attitude with danceable electronics, pop, new wave, and punk. And unlike twenty years ago, it is mainly women leading the way in this sound in 2025.
On Friday, April 11, Paradiso celebrates the thriving Dutch scene with INDIESLEAZE LIVE x Indiestad. After the main program in the Grote Zaal, you can dance until the early hours in the Kelder with various DJs and a surprise live show from a promising Amsterdam trio.

Baby Berserk
The Amsterdam trio Baby Berserk is a whirlwind of style, sound, and self-expression. The band effortlessly balances between the exciting energy of indie and the hypnotizing beats of the club scene. Their latest album takes you on a wild ride through pop culture, rebellion, and raw emotions.
Housepainters
The Amsterdam trio Housepainters mixes disco with wave and dub. Think tight basslines, pulsating synths, and a deep, echoing sound that will carry you through the night.
Lena Hessels
The music of Amsterdam singer and producer Lena Hessels combines hyperpop, alternative electronics, and a DIY indie sleaze aesthetic. Expect glitchy beats, distorted vocals, and raw energy reminiscent of early electroclash as well as contemporary experimental pop.
INDIESLEAZE CLUB NIGHT
In the Basement of Paradiso, DJs Charlie Avalon and Handshake Collective will serve you a night full of alternative dance, indie, and sleazy pop. A surprise show will also take place. Which band is it? That remains a secret, but trust us, this trio is one to keep an eye on.
History
It’s fitting that these acts are coming together at Paradiso, as the venue has a rich history with this sound: in the early 2000s, Paradiso was one of the first places in Europe where this sound came to life. Events like Noodlanding, ElectroNation, London Calling, and RAUW brought a new generation of clubbers together, inspired by underground parties in London and New York. Acts like Peaches, Soulwax, LCD Soundsystem, The Strokes, MGMT, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Digitalism were frequent guests, and 2manydjs (then known as The Flying Dewaele Brothers) even took their first steps as DJs in the Main Hall.
