Last year, Paradiso blocked a total of 3,526 tickets bought by scalpers. The approach to combat profiteering will be continued this year, which has so far resulted in the invalidation of 769 tickets.
The tickets were purchased by traders with the aim of selling them at large profits via unreliable platforms such as Viagogo, Topticketshop, Marktplaats, 4Alltickets, Stubhub or social media platforms. The invalidated tickets have since been distributed to fans on the waiting lists for the programmes in question.
Scalpers capitalize on the scarcity that occurs when programs are sold out, and drive up prices. Buying up large numbers of tickets for popular programmes ensures that fewer visitors can purchase tickets for the the set ticket price, while Paradiso does everything it can to keep prices low, in times of high inflation. Paradiso's approach to identify scalpers and prevent these trading practices that was initiated last year seems to be paying off; fewer and fewer tickets for Paradiso events are being resold via scalpers.
Second hand tickets safe and for a fair price
Safely buying and selling second-hand tickets is possible via Paradiso's waiting list or via TicketSwap, our resale partner since the end of 2024. Both methods allow the original buyer to return tickets for a maximum of face value price, thus without making a profit. This means that the new buyer pays a fair price as well as being assured of guaranteed valid barcodes.
