Talent development
Paradiso feels a responsibility to foster (local) talent and support the development of gifted musicians, artists, and creators. As a venue, we have the experience, staff, and knowledge to guide talent. By offering our stage and expertise, we hope to act as a springboard. By doing so we hope to contribute to both the music and cultural landscape in the Netherlands. This is reflected in the diversity of our programming and our venues. On this page, you can read all about our initiatives to support talent development.
DIP (Dinsdag In Paradiso)
DIP stands for Tuesdays at Paradiso. DIP is a creative space at Paradiso's Upstairs, where host creators are given the opportunity to experiment and showcase new ideas. DIP takes place on Tuesday evening.

LaDaDi
LADADI is a part of DIP and focuses on the adventurous music and culture enthusiast, aiming to introduce audiences to surprising artistic initiatives. Each edition of LADADI is unique as it collaborates with different creators each time. Expect familiar and unfamiliar themes, heard and unheard stories, and old and new perspectives presented in unexpected ways. Anticipate open conversations, workshops, fashion shows, and experimental experiences, with a music always playing a role.
Indiestad
For everyone who loves indie, alternative, or (post)punk music and wants to discover new music, we have created Indiestad. Indiestad is Paradiso's indie platform that includes a blog, newsletter, and online channel where concert recommendations, interviews, reviews, and articles are shared. Through resources like the Indiestadpas (Indiestad pass), the blog, concert recommendations, reviews, interviews, and its thriving community, this platform has become a launchpad for various indie bands.

Zonneprijs
The Zonneprijs is an initiative created by Indiestad that aims to help emerging and talented artists develop. Bands and artists can apply for a spot at the preliminary rounds. During the preliminary rounds at 't Zonnehuis, various bands will take the stage and try to captivate the audience. A professional jury will determine which band advances to the final at the end of the evening. The final will take place in Paradiso's Main Hall. The winner of the Zonneprijs will receive €10,000.
This event is not only interesting for musicians: as a concertgoer, you can enjoy eight performances by the newest and most sought-after musical acts of the moment, carefully selected by Indiestad.

Super-Sonic Jam
Since March 2024, Super-Sonic Jazz has been organizing the Super-Sonic Jam at Skatecafe in Amsterdam. This initiative originated in the basement of Paradiso during the annual Super-Sonic Jazz Festival. The goal of the Super-Sonic Jams is to bring musicians and music lovers together in an interactive music setting. Everyone is encouraged to participate during the live jams. Additionally, this event serves as a creative space where musicians can meet music professionals and expand their network and skills. Local star drummer Emmanuel Afriye and his concept, Els Jam, take center stage during the jams.
Paradiso Vinyl Club
The Paradiso Vinyl Club is the independent record label of Paradiso. Through the Paradiso Vinyl Club, Paradiso offers up-and-coming artists the opportunity to release a vinyl single on the Paradiso Vinyl Club label. These singles are then presented during their own release show hosted at Paradiso's Upstairs. Members of the Paradiso Vinyl Club pay €7.50 per month and receive the Paradiso Vinyl Club records, as well as access to the release shows. This way, Paradiso aims to contribute to talent development.

Gevelexpositie
Since March 2020, the concert posters on the facade of Paradiso have been replaced by artworks from various artists. Every two weeks, a new artist is given carte blanche to exhibit their work.

small museum
The small museum is a tiny museum that's only visible at night. It is located in one of the notice boards on the facade of Paradiso. Nearly invisible to the public amidst the bustling daily life of Amsterdam and the rushing commuters on Weteringschans, the small museum waits until the sun sets. Like the facade, the small museum also showcases the light of a different artist. From sunset to sunrise, it focuses on smaller, less prominent subjects, inviting us to slow down amid the hustle and bustle.

Internships
Throughout the year, Paradiso offers various internships to help students take flight. You can find open internship positions on our vacancies page.
Soundworks
Soundworks is a program initiated by the Municipality of Amsterdam, utilizing music as a source of inspiration and motivation. The aim is to help participants develop their talents, to empowering them and provide a fitting perspective in which they believe. The program can be implemented for youngsters who face challenges or are susceptible to influence. During Soundworks, they are introduced to (music) professionals and influencers, together exploring opportunities for education or employment. Since 2020, Paradiso has been facilitating Soundworks by providing Upstairs for the project and by recommending speakers from its own organization.
