FAQ
Account / My Paradiso
In the My Paradiso account, you find back all of your tickets in one overview. You can add and edit preferences and personal information, so you don't have to enter this again and again for every new order you place. For many programmes, it is possible to forward tickets to your friends so they can find their own tickets in their personal My Paradiso account. Easy does it.
In the near future we will expand the account environment even further, so that you will have many more options for discovering your favourite programmes. We'll update you if any major features are released.
Log in or signup through the 'My ticket' button on our website. After you've signed in, once more click on My tickets. You'll be redirected to the ticket environment where you can find all of your past orders.
Have you just created an account and can't yet see your past orders in the overview? Then you most likely need to confirm your email address through the link emailed after signing up. After confirming your email address, all of your previous orders will be connected to your new account.
You can only find order in your account that are purchased using the same email address you've registered your account with.
Have you created the account with the same email address as the one used to purchase tickets? You should be able to find all of your orders in your order overview after verifying your email address through the link sent after signing up.
Did you purchase tickets with different email addresses? Then you need to create multiple accounts. it is not possible to merge these orders for safety and privacy reasons.
To securely process your order, you must have a My Paradiso account. This way we can link your tickets to your profile and help you quickly with problems or questions about your order. It also helps us beat fraud and prevent ticket scalpers from buying large amounts of tickets. You can find all purchases in your account, including those from the past.
We'd love to help you out. Please email us on [email protected] with your question or remark, and share as specific information as possible.
Ticket sales
You can find the ticket sales start date on the relevant programme page on our website. The date and time are determined together with the artists' representatives. Oftentimes, ticket sales start at 10:00 on Friday mornings, but do check your specific event so you don't miss out!
To visit one of our events, you need to be a member. As a not-for-profit organisation with a wide cultural programme that offers something for all tastes, your membership supports our programmes, our mission and our overall financial health. To this end, Paradiso also receives an annual grant from the Municipality of Amsterdam, covering about 5% of our annual budget.
We have two types of memberships. You can purchase a monthly membership for € 4,00, and an annual one for € 25,00. For events at other locations than Paradiso and for club nights, a membership for one day is included in the ticket price.
The monthly membership is valid for one month from the date it was first scanned. You can purchase a monthly membership when you buy your ticket online, and it is also availables separately.
If you visit Paradiso regularly, our annual membership might be more suitable for you. You won't have to bother with renewals, and the annual membership gives you a 10% discount on all CDs, DVDs and vinyl at Concerto and all Plato shops (cash and bank card only; not valid when using gift cards). You can buy your annual membership at the Paradiso box office or at paradisowinkel.nl.
Even though you can find many websites selling overpriced tickets to Paradiso events, we strongly recommend you: do not buy them! Buying tickets from third parties is at your own risk; Paradiso cannot guarantee access for tickets not bought through our official outlets. We cannot check whether these are legitimate tickets, nor if they have been resold more than once. Regularly these platforms can't deliver valid tickets since we actively block tickets purchased by scalpers.
Moreover, we want to fight the spiking prices and ridiculous profits these sales can encourage. You can find more info (in Dutch) at www.weetwaarjekoopt.nl/en. For many sold out events, we open up a waiting list. If this is the case for a programma you'd like to visit, it'll be clearly displayed on the programme page. For all events, you can also safely purchase tickets on TicketSwap.
For some of our sold-out programmes, you can be put on a waiting list. Ticket buyers can offer their ticket to the next person on the list. Read all about it on this page.
TicketSwap is our resale partner and, beside our own waiting list, the only way to safely buy second hand tickets. Only for tickets sold through our waiting list and TicketSwap, we can guarantee the validity of the tickets, because for every sold ticket we re-generate a bar code and make the seller's bar code invalid.
Read on about safely and fairly purchasing and selling resale tickets for our events here.
If the concert's sold out, there are no tickets available on the door either.
Check the page of the event to see resale options. For many popular events, we open a convenient waiting list.
It is not possible to reserve tickets for Paradiso's events.
Usually, you can buy up to eight tickets per person. Occasionally we have a limit of two tickets per person, and in rare circumstances we even work with tickets specifically sold to name. We do this to prevent excessive trading in concert tickets; you can find details about tickets quota for your event on the relevant programme page.
As well as the price of the ticket, covering us organising the event and the artist's fee, you are required to pay a service fee. Most of our ticket sales are handled by Paylogic. The service fee covers cost for software, online and offline sales points and things like ticket scanners.
The prices shown on our programme pages are total prices per ticket and include all fees. Though, for concerts at the main Paradiso building, a membership will be required. It is possible to deviate from the above amounts in individual cases.
After completing your order, tickets have been sent to your e-mail address within a couple of hours. Can't find your tickets in your inbox? Log in to your Paradiso Account in the top right corner on all of our website pages.
You can buy your tickets via our website paradiso.nl and in Amsterdam's Concerto record store.
In the programme section of our website you can find the start date of the ticket sales for every event. Just click the ticket button on the programme page to order your tickets straight away. Online tickets sales last until the event start time, unless they are sold out earlier of course.
At times, there are special ticket sales, available via the artist's website or at specialist shops like Amsterdam's soul record shop Backbeat Records. If so, you will find out through our programme page.
You can only buy tickets at the door of Paradiso from the moment doors open, and as long as there are still tickets available.
We are sorry you won't be able to make it. We do not accept returns if your plans have changed. However, it is possible to sell your ticket through a reseller platform. We recommend the safest resale options: our waiting list and TicketSwap.
Did you add the Booking Protect insurance to your order? Then check this page to check if you're eligible for a refund.
If you've bought a ticket online and it gets moved to another venue or postponed, you will receive an email with more information. Your ticket will still be valid for the new date, time or location. If you cannot make it due to the rescheduling of the event, you are able to return the ticket and receive a refund. Only original buyers can return their order.
If you've bought a ticket at a physical location, please fill in this form to request a refund.
Sometimes demand for tickets is higher than the number we can supply due to our venue's capacity. One of the reasons can be that the artist in question chooses to give a performance in an intimate venue like Paradiso, even if they could fill out a big concert hall.
Of course you can get a refund when a concert is cancelled. You will receive an e-mail from us with more details on how to request your refund. If you didn't receive the e-mail, fill in this form to request your refund. Did you buy a Paylogic ticket in Primera or the Concerto store? Then follow these instructions.
If you bought your ticket from an unofficial reseller like Viagogo, Topticketshop or TicketSwap, reach out to their customer service.

This is possible if you conform to certain conditions: your e-ticket is ready on your smartphone, your screen brightness is set to its highest setting and there are no cracks in your screen… If you cannot meet these conditions, please provide a print-out. Let's all work together to minimise waiting times!
You can find door opening times on the programme section of our website. We advise you to be on time as the lines can be long for some events!
Programme start times can be found on the programme section of our website. In case there is a pre-show or a support act, we will make note of this on the programme page as well.
This one is a little hard to answer, as it is up to the artist how long their performance lasts! However, we can say that an average concert lasts about 90 minutes.
We like working with the artists to ensure the chosen venue best suits their music. We have two main locations. There is our building at Weteringschans 6-8, and since 2014 we co-own the location Tolhuistuin, on the other side of the IJ.
Occasionally we also plan events in Bitterzoet, People’s Place, Oedipus Brewery, Het Zonnehuis, De Roode Bioscoop Cinema, OT301, AFAS Live, and churches like De Duif, Amstel Church, Jeruzalem Church and Vondel Church. On the programme page of your event you'll read where it takes place. You can find all relevant addresses, directions and links in the Locations section of this website.
Our address is Weteringschans 6-8, 1017 SG Amsterdam. We are located in a former church just a few minutes from the bustling Leidseplein in Amsterdam's city centre.
You can find our location Tolhuistuin at IJpromenade 2, 1031 KT Amsterdam.
On this page you will also find the addresses of our other locations.
To Paradiso's right, at Leidseplein Square, you can find the free underground bicycle parking, open and monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Paradiso has lockers (small €2,75 - medium €4,00 - large €6,00). You can rent a locker via a QR code or one of the on-site hosts. The lockers can be reopened during the programme(s) you're visiting. Tolhuistuin and Bitterzoet have lockers (€ 2, cash only). Most of our other locations also have a cloakroom or lockers.
Just so you know, using our cloakrooms or lockers is at your own risk. We cannot be held accountable for any cases of loss, damage or theft of your property.
It is not allowed to bring any trolleys, suitcases or large back packs with you inside the venue. You can leave these at your hotel, or use the large lockers at the different train stations. It is allowed to bring a small backpack, though we would like to ask you to leave these in a locker, as bringing them into the room might annoy other visitors.
In Paradiso and Tolhuistuin you can only pay with debit and credit cards. Please mind American Express is not accepted at Tolhuistuin.
Artist's merchandise is usually cash-only.
Most of our events are standing room only, unless otherwise stated on our website. In the Main Hall there is seating available on our two balconies, however, you cannot reserve these. If you are in a wheelchair or otherwise need mobility assistance, please go to the side entrance from the time Paradiso is open. Reception staff will provide you with a key to our lift that allows you to access our balconies upstairs, and our disabled toilets downstairs.
The answer is yes! Our basement is the perfect location for a pre-concert drink – once the venue doors are open – and of course to get together after the programme's finished. We serve a wide selection of drinks and bites, and our basement bar remains open during performances for a quick order too.
There are dozens of eateries in our vicinity. Almost next to our building, you can have a bite to eat at De Balie's Grand Café. Presenting your Paradiso ticket for the night will give you a 10% discount on a main course. Want to whet your appetite? Check their website for the menu and other information.
If you're visiting Tolhuistuin, you could grab a bite at THT, located in the same building as the concert hall. Their menu contains little bites from all corners of the world, and sharing between your group is encouraged! THT is open from 10:00 every day, with dinner available from 17:30 until 22:00. Please note: THT only accepts card payments, no cash. Check their website for more info.
We find lost items in our rooms, lockers or other places in the building on a daily basis. We keep those lost items for a maximum of one week. Did you lose something? Send us an e-mail or call us with a detailed description of your lost item.
As a rule, our concerts don't come with an age restriction, unless stated on the event's programme page. Our club nights generally do have a minimum age of 18, unless otherwise stated on the event's programme page.
For events that have a minimum age, photo ID is required. No ID, no entrance. We also accept passes from asylum seeker centres or local shelters for undocumented people as a proof of identity, provided that a date of birth is stated.
We apply these:
You can find Paradiso's house rules here, Paradiso's terms and conditions (in Dutch) here, and these are Paylogic's terms and conditions.
Other
We're not here to coddle you. However, we do think it is important to tell you something about the effects of high noise levels during gigs. To prevent damage to your ears, using some sort of hearing protection is a smart move. And in fact, using quality ear plugs actually enhances your enjoyment of a performance! You hear the music well, you can actually have a conversation, and you are protecting your ears.
Paradiso supplies two types of ear plugs for your convenience. We sell reusable silicon ear plugs (Thunderplugs), and you can also get single-use ear plugs for free. These are found in all of our venues.
Read more on hearing protection.
Our Main Hall is fitted with a state of the art sound system. Usually artists bring their own sound engineer to operate the system to their liking, supported by one of Paradiso's own sound techs.
You can bring a simple digital camera to our concerts, but please do not use the flash! Photography or videography using professional gear is only permitted with the artist's consent.
Yes, we do – in our venue you can use the open network Para Guest.
